New for 2017, the Colour Rush. Colour runs, Colour Rushes and Colour Parties have become a big thing around the globe over the last decade, originating from the Indian "Festival of Colour". The festival signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh – a perfect way to introduce the Indian theme for Carnival! Come along and get pelted with paint. Starting at the Green Lane NHS Treatment Centre, running through Drew’s Pond and Hillworth Park, finally finishing at the Market Place for the big Confetti Battle.

More details about how to enter are online at docadevizes.org.uk

The traditional Confetti Battle is back again, dating back to 1955 when it was started by Jim Jennings. It is now quite possibly the only one of its kind in the country! As the confetti canons fire, buy your own bags of confetti from the stalls and throw it at your friends! Expect to get 'attacked' by complete strangers throwing paper! As the confetti runs out and dusk falls a firework display rounds off the evening. There will also be a Jennings fairground in the Market Place.
