Sat 2 Dec Black Tie Winter Ball

Market Lavington Music & Comedy Club Presents a stunning black tie winter ball on Saturday the 2nd of December.

A three course meal, dancing to Simply Swing, a seven-piece swing band as featured on Later With Jools Holland, and Strictly Come Dancing. Special guest of honour Stephanie Millward MBE, the 9 time Paralympian Medal Winner, will be there too, and there's set to be a charity auction.

Thu 21 Sep Town Council Street Consultation

Town Councillors will be in the Brittox on Thursday 21st of September between 10am and 4pm to listen to residents’ views on the town.  Each year the Town Council takes to the street to seek views from residents and visitors about what they like, what they don’t like and what could be done differently. There will be an opportunity to comment on the emerging Master Plan for the Wharf Area as well as chance to review with work being done on the next stage of the Neighbourhood Plan.

Sat 23 Sep Country Comes To Town

Wiltshire Wildlife Trust will be bringing the countryside to the heart of Devizes next weekend with the Country Comes to Town family event. The Trust will be taking over Devizes Market Square from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Saturday 23 September for their free annual event.

Staff from the Trust will be showcasing their activities and projects including Building Bridges, Wild Connections and the Repair Academy. Visitors will be able to take part in Forest School taster sessions as well as learn how to identify local wildlife. There’s the opportunity to meet some furry friends from the Lakeside Care Farm and the Trust’s farming team will be bringing along some of their rare breed Belted Galloway cows and calves and Herdwick sheep, which are used to keep some of the county’s most beautiful meadows in pristine condition. 

The Trust will also be holding their AGM and annual Volunteer Awards at St Andrew’s Church in Devizes on the same day. For more information visit the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust website wiltshirewildlife.org

Sat 23 Sep Charity Choir

There's a Charity Choir taking place on Saturday the 23rd of September, in and of HFT Rowde. HFT supports people with learning disabilities in live-in accommodation. As well as day to day care, they offer a wide range of activities providing opportunities for recreation and skill building. Like everything charity based they rely on fundraising.

The choir performing are Con Brio, and they perform on Saturday the 23rd of September at St Matthew's Church, Rowde, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 with refreshments after.

Market Lavington Music & Comedy Club proudly presents Take That Live, the country's leading Take That tribute band.

They will be performing a two hour non-stop show featuring 60 minutes of Take That, 30 minutes of Robbie, and 30 minutes of Take That with Robbie. All this plus brilliant local band People Like Us as support.

Thu 28 Sep Coffee Morning

At the Devizes Conservative Club in Long Street, they're joining in with the National MacMillan Coffee morning. They'll be hosting a coffee morning to raise funds for the charity. All donations of cake and/or raffle prizes gratefully received. It's open to all, so come along for a coffee and cake to support this great cause. The bar will also be open and lunches available too. Sat 30 Sep Saturday Night Slam!

CSF Wrestling returns to Devizes Corn Exchange on Saturday the 30th of September with another action packed evening of bone crunching family entertainment. Twelve larger than life stars from the world of wrestling will do battle in five professional bouts at 'Saturday Night Slam!'

Doors open 6pm, showtime is 6:30pm 'til 9pm. Tickets are priced at just £10 each, available from Devizes Books in the town centre, online at csfshop.co.uk or on the doors at 6pm (depending on availability).

Sat 30 Sep Psychic Fayre

Donna Broomham will be hosting her first Psychic Fayre from 10am 'til 4pm on Saturday the 30th of September, There will be Psychic Mediums, Tarot, Palm, Rune, Astrology and Hot Wax Painted Readings along with Beaded Creations and Silver Sphere Chakra Healing. Admission is free, but readers will charge £15 for 20 minutes. There's gravel parking, disabled toilet facilities and a beautiful Shanty Cafe next door.

It takes place in Bradford on Avon at Westdale Park, Holt Road, Broadford on Avon BA15 1TS.

Sat 30 Sep The Female of the Species

The Female of the Species band is made up of five local female singers from five different bands, who come together once a year to raise money for charity. This year the charity is Wiltshire Air Ambulance. It is a whole evening of live music, complete with excellent support acts (including Devizes based People Like Us), so you can dance the night away whilst supporting a very worthwhile charity. Tickets are just £10 each, with every penny raised going to the charity. Doors open at 7:30pm for an 8pm start over at the Melksham Assembly Hall. Call 01225 709887 for tickets.

West Lavington Village Hall are holding their own MacMillan Coffee Morning on Saturday the 30th of September. Come along for tea and coffee, bric-a-brac, cake bingo, a raffle and lost more, all whilst raising money for a wonderful charity. It runs from 10 'til 12.

Bulkington Village Hall are holding their own MacMillan Coffee Morning on Saturday the 30th of September. Come along for Tea, Coffee, Squash and Cakes and a chat whilst raising money for a wonderful charity.

There will be Cake Bingo, a raffle and stalls, and the Great Bulkington Railway will run from 10am 'til 12noon, for which tickets are just £1, or £5 for a season ticket.

Rob Allen performs at the Bromham Country Music Club on Saturday the 30th of September.

Rob was born in Cardiff and is a fierce patriot who finds a lot of inspiration for his songs and lyrics in his homeland of Wales. The lyrics alone make any Welshman immediately homesick.

Wed 4 Oct WAA Prize Bingo and Live Music

There's prize bingo and live music in aid of Wiltshire Air Ambulance on Wednesday the 4th of October at The Exchange Club here in The Corn Exchange. Doors open at 6pm for a prompt 7pm start. Entry is by donation, bingo tickets are £2 per strip and 5 games will be played. There's a raffle too!

This is a family friendly monthly event being held on the first Wednesday of every month at the same time.

The former Whitesnake guitarist Micky Moody comes to the Long Street Blues Club on Saturday the 7th of October, backed by powerful vocalist Ali Maas. There's acoustic support from Phil Walker, and tickets are £15 in advance from Devizes Books and The Conservative Club.

Fri 13 Oct Charity Psychic Supper

There's a Charity Psychic Supper taking place in Melksham on Friday the 13th of October at the Rachel Fowler Centre. Tickets are £20.50 each, in advance, limited to 60 this year.

You will have a hot buffet supper, there will be a help yourself pudding bar, with 2 bottles of wine on each table to share, tea, coffee and squash too. There will be 2 hours of mediumship, with the mediums working at your tables, and you will have at least 3 different mediums join you during the evening. There will be a separate demonstration of mediumship, artwork for sale, a raffle, and the night will finish at 11pm.

It's the group's third annual supper raising money for children.

Thu 26 Oct A Night of Dirty Dancing

The ultimate tribute to Dirty Dancing comes to Melksham on Thursday the 26th of October with "A Night of Dirty Dancing" performing in the Melksham Assembly Hall. It kicks off at 8pm.

No film has captured the hearts of a generation like Dirty Dancing. Relive the Passion, the Romance & Joy of the Cult Classic and celebrate the music of one of the greatest movie soundtracks of all time.

Market Lavington Music & Comedy Club Presents a stunning night of Madness on Saturday the 28th of October. Los Palmas 6 are not only the only seven-piece Madness Tribute, they feature none other than Steve Turner, who played the Sax in Madness for over eight years and featured on many of the big hits. He also played in Ban Manners, and many other bands. All this and support from brilliant local band This Way Up. They're a Modern Country Rock Band based in the South of England, bringing all the great modern Downtown Nashville sounds to your ears without the need to leave Blighty!

Sun 12 Nov Peter Donegan

Almost inevitably, Peter Donegan has been performing since the age of five, given that the ‘Godfather of British Rock n Roll’, ‘King Of Skiffle’, the late Lonnie Donegan is his father. Lonnie inspired every British Invasion band from The Beatles to Led Zeppelin. Peter loves Country music so much and considers himself a true British-American hybrid.

He performs at the Devizes Country Music Club on Sunday the 12th of November.

Fri 24 Nov Christmas Festival

Christmas comes to town on Friday the 24th of November with the 2017 Christmas Festival. 

You'll find music and performance, children's attractions, great food, mulled wine bar, high class raffle & craft stalls with the Sidmouth Street Festival. Come and see Father Christmas in his grotto in Albion Place. The Market Place will host entertainment from 5pm including Devizes Town Band, Fantasy Radio broadcasting live from the event, and performers from Circomedia.

Father Christmas leads the Lantern Parade from Sidmouth Street, starting at 6.15pm. The biggest and most beautiful lantern parade in Wiltshire will wind its way from to the Market Place. Follow this magical spectacle with hundreds of lanterns made by local schools, community groups and individuals - follow them to the big light switch on.

The Real Father Christmas will then switch on the Christmas lights at 6.45pm in the Market Place.

Christmas markets in The Market Place and The Corn Exchange all day long offering Christmas gifts and decorations, food and drink. Come and be part of this wonderful event and breathe in the true community spirit of the festive season. Friday the 24th of November for the Christmas Festival for 2017!

Annalee West performs at the Bromham Country Music Club on Saturday the 25th of November. Annalee is a talented singer-songwriter, gathering momentum on the UK Country scene, with a recent appearance in Brean over the summer. Annalee sings classic and modern country hits.

This week at the Devizes Country Music Club, Ben Thompson.

Country Music is Ben's passion. He is particularly fond of the older country such as Merle Haggard, George Jones, Waylon Jennings and Charlie Rich. also enjoys music from George Strait. Josh Turner, and Garth Brooks.

Fri 1 Dec Ladies Night

On Friday 1st December, for one night only, The Consti Club in Chippenham is holding a ladies night, raising money and awareness for two cancer charities. 

The highlight of this special night will be a hand picked selection of Chippenham men reconstructing the “leave your hat on” dance from the film The Full Monty.

Town residents aged between twenty and sixty will be performing the dance to raise money and promote awareness of “Prostate Cancer UK” which is a charity that actively promotes itself by inviting men and woman to get involved to prevent cancer being a killer. Also, the local charity “It’s In The Bag” based in the South West and run by a group of testicular cancer survivors whose mission is to raise awareness and to get men checking themselves regularly will receive a donation too.

Between them, both charities will receive 100% of every pound raised on the night and from ticket sales. As well as the “One Off” dance, the night will have an 80s themed disco and some surprises that could leave you with images that aren’t for the faint hearted! To round off what will be a memorable night, the ladies raffle could leave you with a few extra surprises in your Christmas stocking as well.

LA Country perform at the Bromham Country Music Club on Saturday the 9th of December.

After joining forces in 2010, Lottie & Allen have gone from strength to strength working all over the world on cruise ships, hotels and international festivals. Their love for country music really shows on stage and that’s when it comes alive with great humour and audience interaction.
