First Saturday Each Month Wiltshire Farmers Market

On the first Saturday of the month it's the Wiltshire Farmers Market. It takes place in the Market Square, Devizes from 9am 'til 1pm with local artisan food, crafts and top quality goods available to purchase directly from the producers.

Saturdays Slimming World

Every Saturday at 9am and 11am, pop along to Slimming World at the Nursteed Centre. Lose weight and feel great. Join the gang and make new friends whilst receiving some great support to help you lose weight.

Sat 2 Dec Black Tie Winter Ball

Market Lavington Music & Comedy Club Presents a stunning black tie winter ball on Saturday the 2nd of December.

A three course meal, dancing to Simply Swing, a seven-piece swing band as featured on Later With Jools Holland, and Strictly Come Dancing. Special guest of honour Stephanie Millward MBE, the 9 time Paralympian Medal Winner, will be there too, and there's set to be a charity auction.

Fri 13 Oct Charity Psychic Supper

There's a Charity Psychic Supper taking place in Melksham on Friday the 13th of October at the Rachel Fowler Centre. Tickets are £20.50 each, in advance, limited to 60 this year.

You will have a hot buffet supper, there will be a help yourself pudding bar, with 2 bottles of wine on each table to share, tea, coffee and squash too. There will be 2 hours of mediumship, with the mediums working at your tables, and you will have at least 3 different mediums join you during the evening. There will be a separate demonstration of mediumship, artwork for sale, a raffle, and the night will finish at 11pm.

It's the group's third annual supper raising money for children.

It's the St Andrew's Church Autumn Fayre on Saturday the 14th of October. It runs from 10 'til noon, with stalls, tombola, a raffle and refreshments. Something for all the family, and entry is free. Market Lavington Guides are raising funds for their unit. They are holding a cake, craft and produce Sale outside the Co-op in Market Lavington High Street, on Saturday the 14th of October from 8.45 'til 11.30am, so pop along to give them your support.

Sat 14 Oct Sci-Fi Day

It's the Sci-Fi and Fantasy Day on Saturday the 14th of October. It takes place at the Devizes Community Hub and Library from 10 'til 2pm. Talk to experts and see demonstrations of writing, computer art, illustration, robotics and film.

There will be special guests too including Star Wars droids, Dr Who Daleks and Cybermen, local authors Debi Evans and David Johnson. The mayor of Devizes Nigel Carter will open the day, and the school writing competition entries will be announced at 10.30am.

Sun 15 Oct Sponsored Walk

Come along and join the Lions Club Sponsored Walk on Sunday the 15th of October. Raise money for your favourite cause, club or charity on their annual walk around the beautiful Roundway Hill. They'll do the organising, you just need to get your sponsorship. Entry cards are available from Rangebourne Pet Care in New Park Street, and the walk gets under way from 9.30am on Sunday the 15th of October from The Wharf.

She's been recently nominated for Country Artist of the Year 2017 and Female Country Singer of the Year 2017 by The UK Country Music Awards - one not to miss!

Sat 21 Oct Ska @ The Cons Club

Devizes Scooter Club presents a night of live music including a club DJ, on Saturday the 21st of October. It takes place at The Conservative Club in Long Street. It will feature local band Easily Led, and ska band The Killertones. There's a cash raffle to be won, with tickets £10 and from The Conservative Club, on the door on the night, or from Devizes Scooter Club - check them out on Facebook.

Sat 21 Oct Time Machine

In Melksham on Saturday the 21st of October, it's Time Machine: A Mobile Medieval Museum!

A chance for children to travel back to Medieval times, learn to swordfight like a Man at Arms, dress up as a Knight or Princess, and hold genuine medieval artefacts like bones, pottery and silver coins. Children can also make their own Magna Carta and learn how to seal them with wax. There will also be a medieval knight in full armour! Suitable for ages 4+

It takes place from 10.30 'til 11.30 at the Melksham Library. It's a free event but please contact the library to book a place on 01225 702 039.

Sun 22 Oct Skinny Molly

There's more great live music at the Long Street Blues Club here in town on Sunday the 22nd of October. From the USA, and back by popular demand, Skinny Molly perform in Devizes. USA Southern rock at its very best with all the classics such as Freebird and Sweet Home Alabama. Tickets have sold out the last three times they've appeared in Devizes, so grab your tickets now - just £15.00 in advance from Devizes Books and The Conservative Club.

Mon 23 Oct Behind the Scenes

Behind The Scenes at the Mobile Medieval Museum at the Melksham Library, on Monday the 23rd of October. It's a chance for adults and older children to explore the gritty realities behind Medieval England. The museum will reveal their rarer artefacts for you to handle, talk about Medieval life, the Plague, why war with France was a national hobby, and what we can learn about board games from the vicious Vikings... There will also be a medieval knight in full armour!

Thu 26 Oct A Night of Dirty Dancing

The ultimate tribute to Dirty Dancing comes to Melksham on Thursday the 26th of October with "A Night of Dirty Dancing" performing in the Melksham Assembly Hall. It kicks off at 8pm.

No film has captured the hearts of a generation like Dirty Dancing. Relive the Passion, the Romance & Joy of the Cult Classic and celebrate the music of one of the greatest movie soundtracks of all time.

Fri 27 Oct Children's Halloween Cruise

The Kennet and Avon Canal Trust are running a spooky Halloween Cruise for children on Friday the 27th of October from 4.30 'til 5.30pm. It will feature goodies, games and stories with refreshments for the little ones. Tickets are £5 for adults, £4 for children aged 5-15. Fri 27 Oct 11-15 Kids Disco

The Exchange Night Club opens its doors to younger folks on Friday the 27th of October, as a kids disco is held once a month. During October there's a Halloween fancy dress theme, so kids between 11 and 15 can dress up as their favourite halloween characters for the night. The event is fully staffed, there's a DJ, and it runs from 7-9pm. Entrance is just £5 to include free soft drinks.

Sat 28 Oct Children's Halloween Party

The Wyvern Club is holding a halloween party for children on Saturday the 28th of October. There will be a disco, a kids raffle, hook-a-skull, burgers and hotdogs, and fancy dress is encouraged with a prize given for the best outfit. Everybody's welcome, it just £1 to enter, and it runs from 4 'til 6pm on Saturday the 28th.

Sat 28 Oct Madness Tribute

Market Lavington Music & Comedy Club Presents a stunning night of Madness on Saturday the 28th of October. Los Palmas 6 are not only the only seven-piece Madness Tribute, they feature none other than Steve Turner, who played the Sax in Madness for over eight years and featured on many of the big hits. He also played in Ban Manners, and many other bands. All this and support from brilliant local band This Way Up. At the Devizes Country Music Club on Sunday the 29th of October it's Dirt Road Diary , the club's Halloween Spooktacular.

They're a Modern Country Rock Band based in the South of England, bringing all the great modern Downtown Nashville sounds to your ears without the need to leave Blighty!

Fancy dress is optional but encouraged for this event.

Tue 31 Oct Book Signing

There's a Book Signing taking place on Tuesday the 31st of October at Devizes School.

Their Maria Heathcote oil painting will feature in the Antiques Roadshow 40th Anniversary 'best finds' book, after the school appeared on the Antiques Roadshow in 2016.

Marc Allum, expert from the Antiques Roadshow has co written the book which is out mid October. Marc has kindly offered to come along to Devizes School to do a talk and book signing during an evening event. Light refreshments will be available. Tickets are just £5, children go free. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

Fri 3 Nov Mayor's Quiz Night

Friday the 3rd of November is the Mayor's Quiz Night at the Assembly Rooms in the Devizes Town Hall.

The quiz, conducted by one of the town's leading quiz-masters Don Jones, is being held in support of the Mayor's Charities - Wiltshire Mind, Alzheimer's Support and SSAFA, the armed forces charity. Tables of up to six, with a fee of £10 per table. There will be a licensed bar, table snacks and a raffle.

Sun 12 Nov Peter Donegan

Almost inevitably, Peter Donegan has been performing since the age of five, given that the ‘Godfather of British Rock n Roll’, ‘King Of Skiffle’, the late Lonnie Donegan is his father. Lonnie inspired every British Invasion band from The Beatles to Led Zeppelin. Peter loves Country music so much and considers himself a true British-American hybrid.

He performs at the Devizes Country Music Club on Sunday the 12th of November.

Mon 13 Nov Poppy Concert

Devizes Town Band present the 2017 Poppy Concert on Monday the 13th of November at the Devizes Town Hall.

An evening of great music from the fantastic town band in support of the Devizes Poppy Appeal, the Royal British Legion Pilgrimage and the Town Band itself.

Fri 24 Nov Christmas Festival

Christmas comes to town on Friday the 24th of November with the 2017 Christmas Festival. 

You'll find music and performance, children's attractions, great food, mulled wine bar, high class raffle & craft stalls with the Sidmouth Street Festival. Come and see Father Christmas in his grotto in Albion Place. The Market Place will host entertainment from 5pm including Devizes Town Band, Fantasy Radio broadcasting live from the event, and performers from Circomedia.

Father Christmas leads the Lantern Parade from Sidmouth Street, starting at 6.15pm. The biggest and most beautiful lantern parade in Wiltshire will wind its way from to the Market Place. Follow this magical spectacle with hundreds of lanterns made by local schools, community groups and individuals - follow them to the big light switch on.

The Real Father Christmas will then switch on the Christmas lights at 6.45pm in the Market Place.

Christmas markets in The Market Place and The Corn Exchange all day long offering Christmas gifts and decorations, food and drink. Come and be part of this wonderful event and breathe in the true community spirit of the festive season. Friday the 24th of November for the Christmas Festival for 2017!

Annalee West performs at the Bromham Country Music Club on Saturday the 25th of November. Annalee is a talented singer-songwriter, gathering momentum on the UK Country scene, with a recent appearance in Brean over the summer. Annalee sings classic and modern country hits.

This week at the Devizes Country Music Club, Ben Thompson.

Country Music is Ben's passion. He is particularly fond of the older country such as Merle Haggard, George Jones, Waylon Jennings and Charlie Rich. also enjoys music from George Strait. Josh Turner, and Garth Brooks.

Fri 1 Dec Christmas Market

Christmas comes The Wharf on Friday the 1st of December with a great Christmas Market at The Wharf Tea Rooms. It runs from 5pm 'til 8.30 with a complementary mince pie and milled wine! Fri 1 Dec Ladies Night

On Friday 1st December, for one night only, The Consti Club in Chippenham is holding a ladies night, raising money and awareness for two cancer charities. 

The highlight of this special night will be a hand picked selection of Chippenham men reconstructing the “leave your hat on” dance from the film The Full Monty.

Town residents aged between twenty and sixty will be performing the dance to raise money and promote awareness of “Prostate Cancer UK” which is a charity that actively promotes itself by inviting men and woman to get involved to prevent cancer being a killer. Also, the local charity “It’s In The Bag” based in the South West and run by a group of testicular cancer survivors whose mission is to raise awareness and to get men checking themselves regularly will receive a donation too.

Between them, both charities will receive 100% of every pound raised on the night and from ticket sales. As well as the “One Off” dance, the night will have an 80s themed disco and some surprises that could leave you with images that aren’t for the faint hearted! To round off what will be a memorable night, the ladies raffle could leave you with a few extra surprises in your Christmas stocking as well.

LA Country perform at the Bromham Country Music Club on Saturday the 9th of December.

After joining forces in 2010, Lottie & Allen have gone from strength to strength working all over the world on cruise ships, hotels and international festivals. Their love for country music really shows on stage and that’s when it comes alive with great humour and audience interaction.

Zenne is proving to be a Hit on the country scene throughout the UK.
