Regular Events

Tuesdays Men's Shed

Men's Shed runs every Tuesday from 10 'til 1. It's open to men and women at Needham House in Victoria Road, Devizes, and it's a chance for you to work on community projects, or one of your own.

Wednesdays Devizes Children’s Choir

On Wednesdays from 4.30 to 5.30pm the Devizes Children’s Choir takes place at the Baptist Church Hall Sheep Street. This is a children’s community choir for children from Year 1 upwards. They have been running for just under a year and their aim is to sing for fun and to go out and about in the community. The team sings at local events in the community, and at places like care homes. There are currently 24 children but would like to increase their numbers into their second year. For more information or to get involved call Heather Flower on 01380 722013.

Thursdays Salsa

The Devizes Salsa Classes on a Thursday Night have moved! They are now at Needham House in Victoria Road, so pop along for the best Salsa fun in town, 7.30pm on Thursday evenings.

Saturdays Slimming World

Every Saturday at 9am and 11am, pop along to Slimming World at the Nursteed Centre. Lose weight and feel great. Join the gang and make new friends whilst receiving some great support to help you lose weight.

First Saturday Each Month Wiltshire Farmers Market

On the first Saturday of the month it's the Wiltshire Farmers Market. It takes place in the Market Square, Devizes from 9am 'til 1pm with local artisan food, crafts and top quality goods available to purchase directly from the producers.


6-22 Apr Welcome aboard The Admiral

Easter school holidays include the daily opening of THE ADMIRAL, the floating visitor centre boat at the top of Caen Hill locks, featuring family trails, FREE children's Easter craft activities, history, and nature guides.

The Admiral is located below the bridge by the Caen Hill Cafe at Lock 44. Come and make a day of it - bring a picnic or eat at the Cafe. Discover the new woodland trail in Jubilee Woodland, do the Easter trail, decorate an egg, feed the fish, look for the nesting swans and ducks, listen to the birds, and enjoy the fresh air - it's open from 11 'til 3pm daily until the 22nd of April.

2 Mar - 28 Apr Snakes: A Slither into a Secret World

At Wiltshire Museum, Devizes from the 2nd of March until the 28th of April 2019 there's a fabulous, family-friendly exhibition all about Snakes.

A perfect trip out for families with pre-schoolers and primary age children. Using taxidermy, skeletal mounts and award-winning photography, the exhibition reveals some amazing facts about these 'love them or hate them' creatures who first appeared on earth 100 million years ago.

Some of the amazing specimens on display include a King Cobra, Puff adder, Rattlesnakes, Pythons and many more.

The Museum will also be running a variety of drop-in craft activities over the Easter holidays where kids can be creative and make lots of things to take home.

Sat 27 Apr Chirton Concerts

An exciting and varied programme of music is in prospect in the first Chirton Concert of the 2019 season, as popular cellist Leah Hickie returns to Chirton, with leading bassoonist Lois Au. 

It takes place on Saturday the 27th of April from 6pm at the church of St John The Baptist, in Chirton near Devizes.

Tickets include a glass of wine or soft drink in the interval and are £15 in advance, £17.50 at the door, £5 for children. For more information see

Sat 27 Apr All That Soul

At the Devizes Conservative Club on Saturday 27th April, Devizes Scooter Club welcomes back "All that Soul". Back by popular demand. This is not to be missed, motown and soul at its best. Tickets are £12 and doors open at 7.30pm


Mon 6 May Bank Holiday Big Breakfast & Plant Sale

On Bank Holiday Monday the 6th of May, St Andrew's Church is holding its annual Big Breakfast & Plant Sale from 8.30 'til 11am, and everybody's welcome.

Mon 6 May The Lions May Fair

The Lions May Fair is back for 2019, taking place on Bank Holiday Monday May the 6th in The Market Place with all the usual all-day family entertainment, Music, Food, Stalls, and rides.

Tue 7 May World of Puppets

At St Andrew's Church on Tuesday 7th May, Fred Ward and Diane Humphreys will be giving an illustrated talk on puppets and their history. All ladies welcome. Find out more at

Wed 8 May Annual Gardeners' Fair

The Annual Gardeners' Fair takes place on Wednesday 8th of May in The Shambles. It's all in aid of Save the Children.

It runs from 9am 'til 2pm with growers from Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset and Wiltshire, selling annuals, perennials, shrubs, herbs & veg plants, and donated plants are most welcome at the charity stall.

Fri 17 May UB40 Tribute

At The Exchange Nightclub here in town it's the best UB40 tribute in the UK, johnny2bad perform on Friday the 17th May.

The popular ensemble Music for Awhile return to Chirton to play music by JS Bach and Family. on Saturday the 18th of May at St John the Baptist Church in Chirton near Devizes from 6pm.

Sat 1 Jun Ultimate Elton

At the Market Lavington Community Hall on Saturday the 1st of June TOPS ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS ULTIMATE ELTON.

Paul Bacon, a life long Elton John fan is the closest thing you will get to seeing Elton himself. Endorsed by the likes of Chris Evans, Kiki Dee (who has sung with Paul) and John Reed, Elton’s manager of 28 years, this will be a true night of joy for all Elton fans.

15-16 Jun Devizes Open Gardens Weekend

The town's Bi-annual Open Gardens weekend will be held this year in support of the Mayor's chosen charities.

It takes place on the 15th and 16th of June from 12 noon - 4.00 p.m.

Gardens across the town, some in places you didn't know existed, will be flinging open their gates to welcome you in - to chat about the season, the weather, the pests, the triumphs and the failures - and some may even have tea and cake on offer! Maps will be on sale from June 1st at the Town Hall, Devizes Books, The Emporium and The Bear Hotel but you will also be able to buy one on one of the garden gates. £5 per adult, children go free and the cost covers both days.

22-23 Jun Small Animal Weekend

At Rowdefield Farm on the 22nd & 23rd of June, they're holding a small animal weekend. An opportunity to meet the animals and learn a bit about them and life on a real working farm. Also there will be a machinery display where people can hop on board and see what it's like in the machines on the farm, and learn a little about them. The event also raises money for the Devizes Minis rugby tour.


5-9 Jul Devizes Scooter Rally

The Devizes Scooter Rally comes to town between the 5th and 9th of July. A Fresh New Rally with all the traditional scooter Rally values. Guaranteed to be a weekend packed with fun and quality live music.

There will be trophies, fun and games, 7 bands + DJs, a Beer Tent and food and drink outlets. Rally merchandise available, and everyone's welcome to enjoy the weekend entertainment and camping.
